Running the Saint George Marathon

Family and Friends

I had the opportunity today to watch the Young Womans General Broadcast and one of the speakers talked about how she ran in the Boston Marathon and how she thought she was prepared but when she got to Heartbreak Mountain she started to lose it. It was a high hill and it was Mile 20. She said she realized that she hadn't set up a place to meet her husband and she was exahausted and started to allow the negative thoughts to come it. She started Crying and suddenly a long the sidelines she realized there were supporters all around her. They started calling to her saying "Don't Give Up!" You can Do it!" You've Come so Far" She started praying for help and realized it was all around her. I have seen so much of that in my life. Wonderful Family and Friends who continually give me encourageing words telling me I can make it and don't give up... I am so grateful. I know that when we climb the mountains of life sometimes it does feel like Heartbreak Mountain and we don't know if we are going to make it. Heavenly Father is there. He has in place wonderful angels here on earth in the form of family and friends. He has given us his spirit to guide us if we will just trust, listen and realize that he wants us to be happy, he wants us to succeed, he wants what is best for us and staying positive no matter what, can't hurt. We have to trust and stop fearing the future but embrace it and look forward to the wonderful blessings we have in store. Having run a marathon myself a year and a half ago I really related to the story above and loved the analogy that she made to life and the Mountains we know are coming but sometimes don't realize how hard they might be. We might have to excercise our faith and TRUST that Heavenly Father will Provide.
